Picket fences are generally shorter fences that use narrow pickets with spaces that allow visibility through and over the top of the fence. This is the fence commonly referred to as the “white picket fence” and is often installed in front yards. There are many options to dress up a standard picket fence including larger and decorative cut posts, arches or saddle cuts, decorative cuts on the pickets, and alternating board sizes.
